The Tenth Annual Healthcare Unbound Conference, which was held July 11-12, was trending out of control on Twitter last week (#hcub13), and Principal and Co-Founder at VivaPhi and regular blog contributor Leonard Kish was right in the thick of it. The Healthcare Unbound Conference is an international gathering for high-level executives and clinicians to gather and discuss all of the many ways Health IT can lead to better, unrestricted healthcare. In his latest blog post, Kish explores the conference’s themes and applies his own personal touch to the narrative.
The man with the plan (and the bowtie), National Coordinator for Health IT Farzad Mostashari, told Health IT Policy Committee members that he was proud of the progress the community had made over the past few years.
According to Medical Economics, a lot of top docs use medical smartphone apps to help them with their day-to-day, but apparently, many physicians also don’t enjoy using a great number of these programs. So which apps do physicians fancy at the moment? This article lists the top five and includes a brief breakdown of the features for each one.

I think this one got noticed for its edgy headline – “all of healthcare is broken and this one individual can fix it? We’ll see about that…” And it’s a good thing the title invokes the desire to read on because this Wired Q&A is actually quite good. But can Gretchen Wustrack really “fix healthcare?” You can determine that for yourself…
